R.B. Batson is a multi-talented author and a resident of the Deep South. With a rich academic background, he holds a Master of Ministry in Ministerial Counseling and History of Biblical Interpretation and Theology (with honors), a Master of Professional Studies in Community Development, and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography. Beyond his academic pursuits, Batson is an Eagle Scout and an active member of the University of North Alabama Geography Alumni Association and the National Society of Leadership and Success.
In addition to his literary career, Batson is a passionate creator who enjoys backpacking, singing, and drawing. He also owns a handmade, sustainably produced, organic soap-making business. Batson’s unique perspective and diverse interests fuel his creative work, allowing him to explore and challenge societal norms through his writing.
His latest novel, Antichrist: A Story About Heartache, delves into the life of Travis Marx, a young adult whose life is thrown into turmoil by religious fundamentalism. Blending elements of horror, science fiction, comedy, supernatural elements, and social commentary, the novel challenges readers to reconsider their perceptions of authenticity, compassion, and restraint. The story of Travis, who embarks on a journey across various religions, questions fundamentalist views and explores the struggle for personal identity.
